FAQ

What is Homeopathy?

“Homeopathy is a gentle, energy-based approach to healing that stimulates the body’s own ability to restore balance and well-being. It uses remedies derived from a combination of plants, minerals, and other natural substances to support resilience and strengthen physical immunity. Unlike one-size-fits-all treatments, Homeopathy is highly personalized healing process where everyone requires a unique level of support based on their specific imbalances.

By working in harmony with the body, Homeopathy provides subtle ‘nudges’ that help guide it back to its natural state of equilibrium.”

It works on the principal of Like cures like.

The Principle of “Like Cures Like” (Similia Similibus Curentur)

At the heart of homeopathy is the concept of “like cures like”, which means that a substance that causes symptoms in a healthy person can, in a very diluted form, treat similar symptoms in a sick person. This principal dates back to ancient healing traditions but was formally developed by Samuel Hahnemann in the late 18th century.

Example:

  • Raw onion causes watery eyes and a runny nose when you chop it. A homeopathic remedy made from onion (Allium cepa), when diluted, might be used to treat hay fever or a cold with similar symptoms—watery eyes and a runny nose.
  • Similarly, coffee, which can cause insomnia in large amounts, is used in diluted homeopathic form (Coffea cruda) to treat sleeplessness.

The idea is that the remedy acts as a gentle stimulus, prompting the body’s natural healing response to correct the imbalance causing the symptoms.

How does Homeopathy work?

All living being has dynamic energy called vital force. According to Hahnemann, if the energy level of the individual is high, they perform in optimal way and function at maximum potential. In other words, the homeostasis is maintained.

Our body does involuntary responses to confront every odd such as body sweats if it is too hot to maintain our body temp. in Homeopathic world, this is the vital force or our dynamic energy’s response to maintain balance within our body.

From time to time, this dynamic energy can get disturbed due to outside agents like virus, bad diet & hygiene, emotional trauma & stress and genetic predisposition. When vital force encounters this disturbance it can result into disease, symptoms, suffering or sickness.

Our disturbed dynamic energy requires an equally dynamically energised remedy to bring this to balance from any kind of mistunement. It interacts with the energy of the living being affecting the entire being in a holistic level – mental, emotional and physical.

Preparation of Homeopathic Remedies (Potentization)

Homeopathic remedies are prepared through a unique process called potentization, which involves two key steps:

a) Dilution:

The original substance (plant, mineral, animal product, etc.) is repeatedly diluted in a mixture of water and alcohol. This dilution can be extremely extensive—sometimes to the point where no molecules of the original substance remain.

  • Dilution Scales:
    • Centesimal (C): 1 part substance to 99 parts solvent. A 30C remedy has undergone this process 30 times.
    • Decimal (X or D): 1 part substance to 9 parts solvent.
    • LM (Q) Potencies: Even more diluted, often used for sensitive individuals.

b) Succussion:

After each dilution, the solution is vigorously shaken (succussed). Hahnemann believed that this step was crucial as it “energizes” the remedy, allowing it to retain the “vital essence” or energetic imprint of the original substance.

This process is thought to enhance the remedy’s healing power while minimizing any toxic effects, since the actual substance becomes increasingly diluted.

How It’s Believed to Work:

  • Homeopaths propose that the remedy’s energetic imprint interacts with the body’s vital force, stimulating it to correct the imbalance.
  • The effect is considered holistic, influencing the mind, emotions, and physical body.

Despite the extreme dilutions, homeopathic remedies are believed to act on a subtle energetic level, which is why they’re often referred to as working beyond just the biochemical level.
